Sigourney Weaver made her acting debut in the 1977 film Annie Hall, opposite Woody Allen, in a supporting role. She was noticed, even though her involvement was brief. She was cast in the breakout Alien role of Ellen Ripley in 1979. The film was a major achievement, and Weaver rehashed her job in three following continuations.
